September 4th

Did final fitting of the doors and bonded shoot bolt sockets in place, port and starboard.  Cut top of tunnel to facilitate the installation of the parking brake system.  Fabricated mount for parking brake valve and mounted it.  Installed fittings and brake hoses.  Fabricated actuating lever and cut slot for it, in the tunnel top.  Checked movement of arm, for binding and proper throw.  Finished installing door pistons and bonded wire loom into overhead of baggage bay...

Trimmed and sanded door reveals.  Bonded in port and starboard wiring channels.  Pulled port and starboard, overhead wiring, through channel.  Bonded starboard wire loom to wiring channel.  Fabricated parking brake knob and painted.  Trimmed Plexiglas windows to fit doors...

Pulled the fuselage out of the cradle and laid her up on the table, on her side.  Sanded the belly and started filling.  First coat is done...

Sanded lower fuselage and refilled the parts that needed a second coat.  Lined the inner firewall with another layer of stainless and sealed with hi-temp sealer...

Sanded lower fuselage again and refilled the parts that needed it.  Mounted main wheels to axles...

Finished sanding lower fuselage and primed.  Installed main gear struts and set her on the ground...

More sanding and filling of the fuselage.  Looking good!

Sanded the fuselage, once again.  Still needed a little filler in two or three spots, so laid that in.  Paint guy came over to give it a look-see.  Gave it the thumbs up...

Finished all the rough-in sanding.  Setup the "easy bake oven" and started post curing the epoxy...

Laid up flox to port aileron mass balance boxes.  Sanded lower half of port wing and filled. Secured wing tip wiring...

Sanded the underside of the port wing and refilled.  Pulled the fuselage "out of the oven" and started doing the fine sanding on the door reliefs and around the front...

Sanded out upper port wing.  Found one small spot that needed refilling, so, did that.  Looks like a good "once over" and she's ready for primer.  I'll finish the wingtip when the lenses arrive and the flap root extension when the flap actuator mechanism is in place.

September 30th

Finished sanding port wing.  Designed, fabricated and installed wing tie down plates on both wings.  Hooked up quick connects for port wing wiring.  Setup "easy bake oven" for port wing.  Sanded bottom of starboard wing and did initial fill...
